Church Dedication & Thanksgiving Service

Our BIG day! TCMC's Church Dedication and Thanksgiving service

Sunday April 29, 2:30 pm.

The sanctuary was overflowing with praise!

The day of the celebration finally came! Our army of welcomers and ushers took their places at the entrances about a half hour before the start.

Some familiar faces that had not been seen at TCMC for more than 10 years began to emerge from the back entrance along with guests from all different ethnic churches.

I truly experienced worship, prayer, fellowship, unity, and most of all **FUN**, as we sang songs, laughed at old softball/summer camp, and candid pics of the people at TCMC, and listened to touching faith stories and affirmations about how God is working in people's lives at TCMC.

(left:) Pastor Steven Lee of Vancouver Chinese Mennonite Church, who helped to found TCMC 20 years ago, flew over to celebrate the event with us.

We wrapped up with church tours and refreshments in Albert hall. The place was buzzing with activity as people socialized, and enjoyed some really good treats. Kevin (my nephew) told me later that he ate more than 15 hotdog/pineapple ors d'oeuvres!!

It was 6pm and guests finally started to head out. As I left, I wondered whether we could have been more effective incorporating an offering into the service, or mention of how people could support our ministries. After all, one of our goals was to try to raise funds to help with building expenses. God then interrupted me in mid-thought. Monica came up to me and announced that several people who came out to our event made donations to TCMC totalling much more than we had anticipated. Thank You, Jesus! Praise God!
